The St.Francis Church is the first ever Church built in India reminiscences in a whimsical way. The traces of Portuguese, Dutch and the British can be witnessed in the medieval buildings of Kochi. Jew Town

Hill Palace
Hill palace is an archeological museum built in 1865 by the Maharaja of Cochin that has now earned its name as the largest museum in Kerala. It consists of 14 categories of displays including the paintings, frescoes, stone and marble sculptures, weapons, inscriptions,coins,manuscripts and armouries. It also serves as a perfect spot for outdoor photography with the plush green lawns and fountains.

Folklore Museum
Located in Kochi, it is constructed in Malabar, Kochi and Travancore style of architecture. A magnificent stone Lamp called Kalvilakku greets us at the entrance. The rustic structure of wood has been constructed by 62 talented workers with 7 years of labor. It exhibits various costumes of traditional dances of Kerala like Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Theyyam,etc... The other level provides us elegant murals and paintings with wooden carved roofs. Including the collection it also houses a variety of old musical instruments, tanjore painting, acrylic paintings and watercolor paintings. They perform various traditional dances and arts of kerala.

Mattancherry Palace
Mattancherry palace is a blend of Kerala and Dutch architecture built in 1545 C.E. by the portuguese and presented as the gift to the King of Kochi. It is famous for its vast halls and courtyards. It has numerous paintings and murals of two great epics alikes Ramayana and Mahabharata along with works of Kalidasa and lord Krishna.

Vasco Da Gama Square
Fort Kochi can be visited for various reasons and two of the major ones are the Chinese fishing nets and the St.Francis Church. The Chinese Fishing Nets or Cheenavala were introduced to the Kochi locals by a Chinese explorer called Zheng He that attracts numerous tourists across India to admire the gigantic nets with bamboo and teak poles and experience the process of it on the sea. It is a spectacular scene to captivate the people at dawn and dusk. The St.Francis church is one more attraction that owns the peculiarity as becoming the first ever Church to be built in India and the portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama was buried here for almost 14 years before his remains were moved back to Lisbon. However, we can witness his gravestone still in the vicinity of the Church.

Paradesi Synagogue
Located in Jew Town, the word “paradesi” in many Indian languages refers to the “foreigners”. This Synagogue is the only oldest active synagogue of all seven synagogues built in Kochi. It was constructed by the Spanish-jews which is also referred as Cochin Jewish Synagogue or Mattancherry Synagogue. It holds hidden treasures like Belgian glass chandeliers, gold crowns, 10th century copper plates, Chinese hand painted porcelain tiles and a hand knotted rug from the last Ethiopian Emperor.
