It is famous among all the various religions of India. Bihar is bordered by Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Orissa. Ganga is the main flowing river over here. Kumrahar is a great specimen of Cultural Heritage of Pataliputra. You can get a great insight into the archeological remains of that era. The excavations have a pillared hall and it is referred to as the Eighty Pillared Hall. The pillared hall was excavated during the years 1912 and 1915. Ornaments, copper coins, toy carts, terracotta beads and various other things were found from here which gives a cultural richness to the place.

Golgha is one of the best architectural specimen found here. It is a great granary and the entire place has been built in the style of a stupa. It is 125 meters thick and has a great capacity to store grains. The Ganges flows beneath it and one interesting factor about this specimen is that it has been designed and constructed in such a way that it can be opened only from inside. It is a great architectural splendor.

Patna Museum
Patna Museum is located in the center of the city. It has almost 45,000 artifacts which are on display in this museum. Some of the floors are dedicated to natural history gallery, Indian stone art tradition, Buddha relic gallery and many more. The stone sculptures and the metal sculptures over here are from the Mauryan and the Gupta dynasties. It even has many sculptures and paintings too from the Buddhist and Chinese art.

Agam Kuan
Agam Kuan is an ancient archaeological place in Patna. It was built during the time of Ashoka. There are many legends which are attached to this place. It was intentionally built by Ashoka to basically torture people. It is believed by many that he even drowned his 99 brothers inside this Kuan just to become the ruler. It is believed to have unlimited powers and is considered auspicious.

Jalan Museum
Jalan Museum was built during the year 1919. Bahadur Radha Krishna Jalan has constructed this museum. There are many special collections from the various corners of the world. The sculptures, furniture, and various idols are there. The jade stones and the crystals are other major attractions over here. To enter the private museum, you will be requiring permission.

Visit Darbhanga
Darbhanga is a large city in Bihar. Ramayana and Mahabharata are said to have taken place in the history of Darbhanga. It was previously the capital of Mithila region. The Videhas were believed to have migrated from the Saraswati River in this place. It is a great place that primarily flourished during the time of Videhas. There are many hotels and guest houses here where one can stay.

Visit the Buddha Smriti Park
Buddha Smriti Park was inaugurated by Dalai Lama many years back. It covers 9 hectares. It has a huge charcoal stupa which has a relic chamber and various small plants. Plants from Bodh Gaya and Anuradhapura are brought over here. It is also a very popular meditation center among the tourists as well as among the locals.

Witness Pataliputra
Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka were the main rulers who had ruled in the kingdom of Pataliputra. Hardly anything remains of the pillared hall and the other structures over there except for the ruins. The third Buddhist council was held over here and it also has a small museum over here. It is one of the most popular cities in the ancient world.

Visit the Khuda Baksh Oriental Library
It is a library cum museum at the same place. It was inaugurated in the year 1900. You can find many Persian and Arabic manuscripts over there. The Rajput paintings are fabulous and Nadir shah’s sword is another major attraction in this museum. You can even spot the inscribed Quran over here.

Visit Har Mandir Takht
Har Mandir Takht is a very important Sikh Shrine. It is located behind a grand gate. It is a bit away from the Chowk area of Patna. There are many marble domes and many staircases. You can even spot several latticeworks. Guru Gobind Singh was born over here. It is located more than 10 km away from Gandhi Maidan.

Takshila is a fine dining restaurant. It is actually a part of Hotel Chanakya. It serves the best North Indian cuisine. The classical furniture and the soothing ambiance of the place add to the great taste and choice of the people. Tandoori, Mughlai and Afghan dishes are its major specialties.

Bansivihar acts as a major landmark for many people over here. It serves the best South Indian food. You can find delicious dosas over here. It is a simple restaurant but serves delectable dishes. It is located near to the Patna railway station and is very easily accessible.

Crown Castle
Crown Castle is not a fancy place nor a more advertised one. It has a narrow staircase to climb up to the restaurant. You can find many Chinese and Thai dishes along with many delicious Indian dishes too. It serves spicy food so you can avoid it if you are not a fan of spicy dishes.
