Kudroli Gokarnath Temple
Sri Narayana Guru had built this temple. He belonged to the Billava community. Lord Gokarnatheshwara is the main deity of this temple, which is Lord Shiva himself. The people of the Billava community were not allowed to enter any other temple. This temple was built in the Tamil Nadu style of architecture. The entire temple is decorated with many murals. The murals show various mythological legends.

Mangalore Beach
This beautiful beach is located between the Gurupara and Nehtravathi. It is a perfect place for the beach lovers who just want to sit back and relax. The Yakshagana performance also takes place every year. It is filled with tourists during this time of the year. You can see the entire Arabian Sea from this beach. You should definitely not miss the serenity of the beach and the most mesmerizing sunset over here.

Bejai Museum
It’s the local name for the Seemanthi Bai Government Museum. It is the only museum in Mangalore and is located in the center of the city. In this museum, you can find many statues, paintings and old coins. The statues also bear various inscriptions. These inscriptions highlight the rich cultural heritage of India. It is a popular place of visit in Mangalore.

Sultan Battery
It is a very popular watchtower which was constructed by Tipu Sultan. It was built in the Gurpur River so as to keep a watch on the warships during that time. It looks like a mini fortress. It was made out of black stones. Although it has turned into a ruin these days, it is still one of the major attractions in Mangalore visited by many tourists throughout the year.

Visit the Kadri Hill Park
It is the largest park in Mangalore with a lot of activities to do during the weekends. It is located beside an animal conservatory. Even horticulture is practiced over here. You can spot various reptiles and animals like the sambar, spotted deer, anteaters and various rare kind of reptiles and birds. It is a treat for the nature lovers to visit the place.

Visit the St. Aloysius college chapel
This chapel is associated with St. Aloysius College itself and was constructed by the Jesuit missionaries. There you can see many frescos on the ceilings and the walls which makes it look beautiful. It has been designed in the manner of a Roman Church. It is open every day from 7 am to 7 pm. It is the ultimate place to seek peace. You can find many details about the saints after the death of Jesus Christ.

Surf around the Ashram
An American guru had opened this Ashram. It is known as the Hare Krishna Ashram. It is located at a distance of about 30 kilometers from Mangalore. You can even practice yoga over here. People living here lead a simple life with no luxury in their life. Only vegetarian cuisine is served here. It is a place of relaxation away from the buzzing city life or the daily life.

Visit Light House Hill Garden
It is popularly called the Tagore Park. It was a lighthouse which was built by the ruler, Haider Ali. It was mainly used by the British officers to see the ongoing ships. Today it has been converted into a very beautiful garden. It is filled with children and adults. They go over here for jogging, running and some even go to indulge in the beautiful view all around as it looks really mesmerizing.

Visit the Butterfly Park
It is also known as the Sammilan Shetty’s Butterfly Park- a privately run park. Here you can find 114 species of butterflies. It is mainly kept here for conservation as well as for educating people about their various kinds and features. It is a safe habitat for them and is a treat for us who are nature lovers or love butterflies. It is open only on Sundays and is located on the Butterfly Road.
