Hadimba Devi Temple
The quaint and peaceful temple that is located in the foothills of the himalayan range hidden amidst the cedar wood forest is a marvellous sight to see. The whole temple is built on a rock symbolizing the deity who was Bhima’s wife and Gadotkach’s mother, but no idol for Devi Hadimba. The inverted cone roofs, wooden doors and windows creates a unique feature to the temple’s architecture. Hadimba is actually a demoness who fell in love with Bhima, the second eldest of the Pandavas and this is the location where Hadimba meditated for her penance. It was built in the year 1553 marking it during the period of epic Mahabharata. The temple holds four storeys with walls inside the temple representing the strong earthen vibes with ornate stones, figurines of goddesses,animals and intricate wooden carvings and goddess Durga on the entrance door where the top roof is sealed with metal. Fill your tummies with hot hot momos and fresh green chutneys in a cheaper rate.
Located at a distance of 3 kms from the Manali Town, tourists can enjoy a short trek to enjoy the beauty of this intoxicating waterfall through pine trees and orchid blooms. The water pours with a huge roar from a height of 160 feet letting us to enjoy the enroute with smaller streams surprising us on the way. It also provides stunning views of the Beas river and the Rohtang peaks covered in snow in the winter days. We do have a refreshment lounge during the climb to Jogini waterfalls with a pop up shops providing hot chais and snacks. It is a blissful scene to be captured for sure through our lenses.
Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa
It is a buddhist monastery providing the most expected tranquility and serenity inside every tourist and a significant temple for the devotees holding the main idol as the enormous statue or idol of Sakyamuni in the meditating posture. The vibrant murals, idols and statues adds more beauty to the monastery that is situated very close to the Mall road of Manali. It holds a very deep tibetan architecture with sequenced shrubs and sprawling lawns. Its a two storey building with a golden pagoda on top with traditional designs and red painted doors along with huge walled murals with prayer wheels outlining the main idol. Even if a tourist doesn’t meditate but instead observe the monks doing the prayer services brings in a peace of mind into us.
Chandratal Baralacha Trek
It is one of the perfect trekking route with most perfect features that is sure to provide a thrilling yet tranquil trek to every tourist. At an altitude of 4300 metres, It is one among the highest perched lake in the Himalayan region. Located in the Spiti Valley, it is a beckoning sight to witness the sunset with glistening blue waters, alluring landscapes and rolling mountain ranges with brimming streams and meadows. It connects the passes of Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar and Lahaul Regions. It covers lush green valleys and terrains and thickly covered forests with whimsical villages and indo- tibetan vibes. Amidst the hustle bustle and daily struggles, we find ourselves escaping into the gorgeous mountains sitting mightily staring back at us offering a challenge ahead to defeat. And that can be done by a trek to these snow covered peaks.
