Basilica of Bom Jesus
It is a church that is known for its exemplary baroque architecture which was constructed in the year 1594 . it portrays the beginning of Christianity in India. The remains of St.Francis Xavier is maintained here that is preserved more delicately with a good condition even after 408 years. It is a UNESCO recognized World Heritage Site with Goa being the capital of Portuguese rule. It is the one and only Church that is unaltered until now in Old Goa. It holds a triangular roof with “IHS” carved upon it meaning 'Jesus, Saviour of Men'. The floor of the church is covered with marble mosaics with precious gems with a decorated floor to ceiling length curtain holding the figure of St Ignatius Loyola protecting an infant Jesus creating goosebumps on us.
The Sunburn festival is a huge concert that is held in every December at Candolim beach. The electronic dance is the best experience anyone should get here. The loud popping music and scrumptious food is the perfect way to spend the New Year’s Eve. The party lasts for 3 days letting us to go wild and showcase our crazy dance moves where the legendary djs and artists perform live like the Hardwell, Afrojack, Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto and so on.
The Dona Paula is a place that sings romantic poems with the most attractive beach atmosphere with a great view of Mormugao harbour. It is a place that always hustles with energy and also feeding the couch potatoes within us to take a more relaxed sunbathes. It is said to be the place of romance because of the legend tale of Dona Paula’s Love. The powdery white sands with mild breeze running through our hair and birds flocking high up in the sky is the best moments to cherish in our memories.
